After 25 years in energy markets, I’ve become very confident about one thing:

Anyone who tells you they know exactly where prices are heading probably doesn’t. Markets have an inconvenient habit of embarrassing certainty.

That doesn’t mean businesses should simply cross their fingers and hope for the best.

It means procurement decisions should be based on risk appetite, budget requirements and a clear strategy—not somebody’s heroic attempt to call the top or bottom of the market.

Our job isn’t to pretend we have a crystal ball.

It’s to help clients understand their options, weigh the risks and make a decision they can stand behind—even if the market subsequently does what markets can often do and prove everyone wrong.

Experience doesn’t eliminate uncertainty. It teaches you how to manage it.
